All elementals can control one of the four elements – ice, stone, air or fire. Sometimes they can control more than one. Gin is working on her control of ice. Gin has just finished an assassination that forced her to spend six days locked up in an insane asylum and is eager for a vacation, but Fletcher, her handler, has an interesting case for her. The fee is double her usual amount but the assassination has a time limit. It must be done by the following night, and to complicate things further the target is an air elemental. He embezzled money from a company owned by Halo Industries. Halo Industries is run by Mab Monroe. Mab appears to be a respectable businesswomen, wife and mother, but Halo Industries has a stranglehold on the city. They bribe most of the police and all the top city officials. If bribery and intimidation don't work there's always murder. Gin can't help but wonder, why does Mab, a fire elemental, need to hire her? Gin Blanco is clever, competent, and unstoppable.
