As the author explains in the book's introduction, some of these questions have definite answers but many of them are still things people continue to puzzle over. 'Is time travel possible? Will money make me happy? Can a robot think? How can I tell right from wrong? What is it like to be a bat?' These are just a sampling of the questions you'll discover as you page through this book. The questions are arranged in four sections - The Great Big Universe Puzzle, Mysterious Minds and Robots That Think, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, and Seeing and Believing. Each section features between seven and fourteen questions and the accompanying commentary. Cool illustrations, brainteasers and quirky quotations add to the book's question-and-answer format. Stephen Law, a philosophy professor in London, England and the editor of the Royal Institute of Philosophy's journal Think, provides the text for this provocative book.
