I cried the day I found a gold nugget in the pen where I raised my hogs. My name is Desert Rose and I raise hogs in Texas. With my newly discovered treasure I decided to buy me the biggest pig I could find so I could win the blue ribbon at the Laredo State Fair. Well, I found me a real, gosh-darn, gigantic hog, but he had a mind of his own. On the way to the fair we came to a little creek and 'Tickle my tail feathers!' but that highfalutin hog refused to cross that tiny, weeny trickle of water. Why, shoot, I needed some help to get him across so I asked a bunch of critters, including a coyote, rattlesnake, bronco, and longhorn steer, to help me and 'Pickle my pistols!', they all said no! Then I found me a sly armadillo with lots of attitude and he agreed. I'm not going to tell you how he got all those lazy varmints movin' but 'Chop my chaps!' if he didn't and we got to the fair just in time for the hog judging. And, yup, that big pig of mine done come and won me a nice blue ribbon! This here is a pretty funny story with lots of really fine, colorful pictures of all the creatures I talked about so I think you'll get a real hoot outa it! And, 'Bust my boots!', if you don't like it I'll be as surprised as a buzzard that mistakes a cactus plant for an old fence post (if you get my point!)
