y name is Olivia. Maybe you have seen me on T.V. or read all the stories about the adventures I have had. In fact, there was even an American postage stamp with my picture on it so maybe you saw my little, white, piggy face on an envelope that came to your house.
W
ell, anyway, this book is about the time I was invited to my friend Francine's house for dinner. Francine's family is very wealthy and I was worried I wouldn't know how to act in a fancy dining room. You see, at my house we are pretty informal. We eat in the kitchen, there is no tablecloth on the table and when we have spaghetti my little brothers sort of slurp it into their mouths. It's not a pretty sight!
D
inner with Francine's folks went OK until I knocked some Brussels sprouts on the floor. Then Francine and I had to move to the
kids' table
, which was kind of embarrassing. But, what was even more embarrassing was asking Francine if she wanted to come and have dinner with my family.
N
ot only did she agree, but my posh friend came over on spaghetti night! Oh boy, this is going to be good I thought! Much to my surprise, everything turned out just great. We both had a good time slurping spaghetti and having fun.
W
hen you read my book you'll see how I worried about having dinner at my friend's house, what happened once I got there and how I think Francine actually had fun sharing a meal with my family.
