Max is at it again, earning some extra money with his pet sitting business. This time the young entrepreneur is asked by Ned Nettles to look after his cute little puppy. Since Ned is not allowed to keep a dog in his apartment, Max is instructed to make sure Fang says out of sight and doesn't call attention to himself.

That's easier said than done, though, when the small, mischievous puppy just happens to be a weredog and there's a full moon out! Making sure Bertha Crab, the nasty old woman who oversees the apartment building, doesn't find Fang becomes a major chore for Max.

With his silly antics, Fang doesn't make the task any easier and, alas, Bertha does eventually discover there's a canine interloper in one of her units. Now Max will have to think fast and even resort to some skullduggery to save Fang from being put to sleep by the vet Bertha calls in.

Perfect for youngsters who have mastered simple chapter books, this story has a manageable vocabulary and excellent plot. After following this wacky adventure there's a very good chance your child will want to read the other books that feature this young pet sitter and the odd creatures he is called in to care for.
