'Pull up the quilt, turn out the light, dear child, it's time to say good night. In darkness black and soft and deep, I'll watch beside you while you sleep,' she tells her vixen. Other mothers (a seal, rabbit, owl, and polar bear) are also tucking in their children on this night when storms rage around the globe. And by the story's end, all is peaceful. 'From north to south and east to west, from cave to berg and twig to nest, a sleepy hush across the world, small creatures in their beds are curled.' The adorable illustrations and rhymed text will help see any child between the ages of 3 and 6 through the stormiest of weather or the darkest of nights. This will be the book your child will want you to read to him or her when the wind is howling and the rain is pelting down or the snow is drifting outside the window.
