A
n interactive lift-the-flap book that encourages your child to recycle and reuse throwaway items, this picture book practices what it preaches - it is made from 100% recycled material!
O
n the first page of the book the little girl looks at a bin of empty cans, milk containers, jars and paper and says, '
WOW! Look at all this trash! Did you know that you don't have to throw it all away?
'
A
s they move further into the book, readers four to six years of age can flip-the-flap to see how an old glass jar can be turned into a vase, a bird feeder can be fashioned from a plastic, gallon milk container, and empty cans can become a percussion instrument. Old clothing also can be transformed into eye catching costumes while an empty cardboard box can be made into a toy car.
T
his new series of
Little Green Books
has been raising consciousness about conservation practices in young readers. The books' distinctive
brown paper bag
color may be a bit drab and you have to be careful when you first open the tabs so they don't rip and tear, but that comes with using recycled paper I guess.
