Open the book and the first page shows the silhouette of what appears to be a rabbit sitting in a garden. On the opposite page is this accompanying rhyming poem: 'He steals carrots from the neighbor's yard. / His hair is soft, his teeth are hard. / His floppy ears are long and funny. / Can you guess who? That's right! My ...' Based on the silhouette the answer is obviously bunny! But, as you'll discover, looks can be deceiving and in this case they definitely are because that really isn't a little bunny you think you see. I won't spoil the fun to tell you what greets your eyes when you flip the page, but that sets the tone for the rest of this hilarious book. Each short poem poses a question to go along with the full page illustration and, in every case, you'll probably guess wrong when you try to answer it. Although it borders on the absurd, this is the type of silly, nonsensical picture book that little children love. Actually, if the truth be told, I thought it was rather fun also. The visual clues are clever although misleading and that's how the author and illustrator keep you guessing!
