S
ue Eves incorporates a life lesson in
The Quiet Woman and the Noisy Dog
, ably assisted by Ailie Busby's amusing illustrations. They begin by showing us a
quiet woman
who lives in a
quiet house
with a
noisy dog
in a
noisy town
.
W
hen that
quiet woman
takes her
noisy dog
to the park, they meet a
noisy woman
with a
quiet dog
. Of course, when the two dogs play together, they end up equally noisy and muddy. Can you guess what happens? You got it. There's a canine mix-up, and the two women take the wrong dogs home with them.
A
fter bath time, each realizes their error. The dogs are exchanged and are happy to settle back in to their own homes, not caring whether they're noisy or quiet - just as their people are happy to have their own dogs back.
The Quiet Woman and the Noisy Dog
is a cute story which emphasizes that love matters much more than personality differences.
