Entire books can be broken down into chapters, paragraphs, sentences and words, and they are built up that same way, beginning with the basic word, of course. The purpose of Word Builder is for children to visualize that process. Although the book is about how words combine together to form books, ironically, the words are not as important in this book as the visualization of that process. Larger than life illustrations, akin to the artist's work in Tadpole Rex, compare the building of a book to the building of cities. Giant cranes, construction workers and tools are depicted. Word Builder is a unique take on a children's book. This kind of book puts the fun into the book building process, showing children that, just like in construction, the English language can be arranged to spec.
