Mama, What's in There?
(a large board book) offers a comforting way of introducing the topic of a new baby to a young sibling-to-be. Rick Peterson's big-eyed animal illustrations will charm young readers, as will the intriguing pull-up flaps.
M
ama Bear answers the question first: '
Inside my tummy is our sweet baby bear. / After he's born, he'll start to grow hair.
' She's followed by other bulging mamas - elephant, dolphin, monkey, dog and human. Lifting the flaps shows the babies, while tabs and wheels let young fingers move the infant animals inside their mamas, showing the dolphin swimming, pups panting, and the human child sucking a thumb.
M
ama, What's in There?
is a sweet board book, filled with activities guaranteed to delight the expectant (and curious) big brother or sister to be.
