Buck Bronco is a cowboy of a different sort: most cowboys ride horses, but Buck Bronco rides dinosaurs at his Mesozoic Ranch. After discovering dinosaur eggs in his field, Buck became a dinosaur rancher. Complete with cowboy lingo, Buck introduces children to dinosaurs and their habits. They'll learn how to choose which dino to ride, then how to saddle him and ride him.

The book doesn't really have a plot or storyline, though information about dinosaurs is interspersed throughout in such a way that kids are subtly learning a few real facts about them. For example, 'You vegetarians out there may want to choose an herbivore over a steak-chompin' carnivore.' Or 'You may need some help with a deinonychus. That five-inch claw can pack a wallop!'

The drawings are humorous, portraying the dinosaurs as downright cuddly: there's a forty inch compsognathus sleeping in a shoebox and many goofy-expressioned dinosaurs in their stalls on the ranch. Ridin' Dinos with Buck Bronco is sure to delight any dinosaur-loving child.
