This boxed activity set, Gymboree Dance Play, comes with two washable nylon scarves (turquoise and red) to inspire creative movement, as well as a large, 32-page board book filled with suggestions to get kids dancing. Many of the activities have songs, with both words and to-the-tune-of music suggestions, to accompany them.

The book starts by telling readers to 'Celebrate your child's love of movement by dancing with her whenever you can' because 'movement and dance help promote skills such as balance, body awareness, self-confidence and self-expression.' After a section on Stretching, there's Silly Walking; Freeze Dance; Monkey See, Monkey Move; Dragon Dance; Shake a tail feather; Round and Round; Limbo; Hula Hips; and Flutterby.

The book concludes with ideas for a retro dance party. Color photos throughout show children dancing enthusiastically and enjoying cooperative play. Other titles in this engaging series include Gymboree Music Play and Gymboree Face Painting.
