Kaszuba Locke This delightful classic (originally published by Disney Enterprises in 1951) was adapted from the motion picture, Funny Little Bunnies. Great-Grandpa Bunny Bunny shares with generations of bunnies his tale of how the town of Bunnyville came to be ... 'deep in the woods, where the briar bushes grow'. In the middle of the active town stands Grandpa's home, a 'neat twig cottage with a neat brown roof', where he lived with Mrs. Bunny Bunny. All bunnies knew that he was 'the ancestral founder of the town.' When he was Daddy Bunny Bunny, he taught his youngsters to decorate Easter eggs. This grew into an enterprise to teach all bunnies how to paint flowers, and moss, and ferns with splashes of green, and bright colors, in preparation for spring. When adult bunnies walked through the woods, they would marvel at the lush and lustrous colors that came from the 'rich soil and rainfall'. Of course, bunnies giggled softly as they knew that Great-Grandpa Bunny Bunny and his helpers were responsible for the colorful surroundings. Great Grandpa grew older. He told his little helpers a secret about an event that would happen in the near future, and each made a promise that they would not tell. The secret is revealed at the book's ending, and it is spectacular! Grandpa Bunny is a tantalizing story told with the warmth of love and friendship in Bunnyville.
