Brum is a little car, out exploring when he sees children about to board a school bus. He's curious so he brum, brum, brums after them. The bus stops at the Museum. Brum lives in a small one himself with other antique cars, so he follows the kids inside through another, more accessible door.

Brum encounters a lost child and they explore the museum together and see 'knights in armor ... paintings of shipwrecks ... and dinosaurs ready to attack one another!' Of course Brum restores the little boy to his worried parents, and then takes the original bus full of children on a tour of his motor museum, all unbeknownst to its snoozing owner Mike.

All in all, the little car had a big day, in which he 'brum, brum, brummed' his way into a museum full of adventure. My kids and I always enjoyed exploring with him, adding our own sound effects to every page!
