The title of this sweet picture book says it all: the love between a parent and child is unconditional. The text is simple and to the point. Some of my favorite passages, mostly because I can relate, are:

'Love you when you won't eat dinner and then try to get dessert.'

'Love you when you unfold all the laundry I just folded.'

'Love you, yes, when you are way too loud.'

'And when you splash me with bathwater.'

Perhaps, though, the best line is:

'Love you, even when you say that you don’t love me.'

Ruzzier's trademark illustrations feature a gnome-like mommy and baby cat in all sorts of familiar situations. Kids will chuckle as they recognize their antics in the pages, and will feel reassured that they are still loved despite their occasional misbehavior. The book will appeal mostly to preschool and kindergarten aged children.
