Passover! shares the experience of the Jewish family holiday in verse. Roni Schotter opens, 'When buds burst open and birds appear, / So do our relatives. Passover's here!' Erin Eitter Kono's cheerful illustrations emphasize the shared joy as family members of all ages greet one another - even new puppy Izzy is included.

Both Mama and Papa prepare everyone's favorite dishes, like Matzoh ball soup and gefilte fish. At sundown, everyone squeezes in to their places at the table, and the Seder begins with the reading of the holiday's story in the Haggadah. Grandpa hides the matzoh and 'We hunt high. We hunt low. Where's the matzoh? Does anyone know?' (The littlest in the family, Moe, finds it, with a little help from Izzy.)

At the back of this sweet picture book is factual and historical information on the special freedom holiday. Whether or not you celebrate it in your family, share the magic by reading Passover! with children.
