This insightful Just Being Me series offers small books that combine stories of a child's daily experiences with a brief 'What's Going On?' analysis by child psychiatrist Dr. Linda Mayes.

In I Love Messes!, we see a small girl drawing off the paper and onto the table, coloring herself, painting with food and using the fridge as an art cabinet. Dad handles his daughter's fascination with messes well - he explains what is not acceptable, but cleans up with her and also 'conveys his acceptance of her curiosity and creativity'.

This series offers important reminders to parents of what does and does not really matter when dealing with little ones - in this episode we learn to teach them to avoid messes, while still nurturing their creativity.
