KHP Industries/Black Death Books offers this compilation of twenty four horror tales that should add a few frights, chills and creepiness to whatever Halloween festivities you have planned this year.

The majority of the stories in this anthology are nicely written, standard horror fare that range from the quietly chilling to the graphic. I got the feeling that most authors were paying homage to their favorite writers, such as H. P. Lovecraft, Poe, or Stephen King - or everybody's favorite television fright mare favourite, Tales From the Crypt.

Stand-outs in The Blackest Death include: Karen Kohler's Bad Hand Man, a sinister tale of the old west; The Return of the Ba by Angeline Hawkes-Craig, a spooky story about an Egyptian curse; and Where Secrets Fester by T.M Gray, in which the town garbage man is more than he appears to be. So pull up a chair, light a few candles and enjoy.
