HP Industries/Black Death Books offers this compilation of twenty four horror tales that should add a few frights, chills and creepiness to whatever Halloween festivities you have planned this year.
T
he majority of the stories in this anthology are nicely written, standard horror fare that range from the quietly chilling to the graphic. I got the feeling that most authors were paying homage to their favorite writers, such as H. P. Lovecraft, Poe, or Stephen King - or everybody's favorite television fright mare favourite,
Tales From the Crypt
.
S
tand-outs in
The Blackest Death
include: Karen Kohler's
Bad Hand Man
, a sinister tale of the old west;
The Return of the Ba
by Angeline Hawkes-Craig, a spooky story about an Egyptian curse; and
Where Secrets Fester
by T.M Gray, in which the town garbage man is more than he appears to be. So pull up a chair, light a few candles and enjoy.
