Young readers are encouraged to entice Crab out of his cave (finger drumroll); to wave hello; to shake the book to get Crab moving on the ocean floor; to move a rock to let him pass; to count Octopus arms; and generally help him explore and shed his old shell for a new one. Jacqui Lee's illustrations are bright and appealing, while Harriet Evans' text encourages wee ones to participate in the life of a crab on the ocean floor.
