Here's a lyrical picture book for older kids (aimed at ages 9-12) and their parents, G. Neri's When Paul Met Artie: The Story of Simon & Garfunkel, illustrated by David Litchfield.

It tells the story of the duo's teen friendship in Queens, New York City, their shared interest in music, and the pursuit of their common dream all the way to stardom - and the titles of the 2 page chapters (I Am a Rock, The Sound of Silence, Bridge Over Troubled Water) will resonate with anyone who knows their work.

After each studies for a while for a more mainstream career, they reunite and are signed by Columbia Records. It's a bumpy start, but eventually they hit the Top 10, and the rest is history, as they become 'the voices of a generation', selling over a hundred million records. It's quite a story, and beautifully told.
