Cary Fagan's Little Blue Chair (illustrated by Madeline Kloepper is aptly billed as 'its journey from place to place and bottom to bottom.'

It began as small Boo's 'favorite chair'. He moved it around for all his daily activities. But then he outgrew it and his mom gave it away. It held a plant for a while, but the plant outgrew it too.

The blue chair sailed the ocean and helped give elephant rides, far away. It held seeds to feed birds; became part of a Ferris wheel; was a carnival prize; and finally was carried by balloons ... back home.

This sweet story illustrates the pleasure to be obtained from simple things, which can serve multiple purposes.
