A picture book written in an invented bug language? Sure sounds odd but reading it aloud works - and even makes sense - for Du Iz Tak? by Carson Ellis.

Bugs gather - and embroil their friends - to wonder about a tiny shoot, as it grows page by page. They rest on its leaves, fiddle to it by moonlight, and build a pirate fort in it. A spider adds her web, but a bird clears it, to acclaim. Then it blooms, to universal joy. Of course, it doesn't last forever, but the fiddler plays on.

Enter the insect world and explore the cycle of life with its inhabitants in Du Iz Tak? Ask children what they think the bugs are saying and what's happening on each page.
