emon: Volume 1
is the first book in Jason Shiga's four-part dark comedy. In it, we meet Jimmy Yee who is having the hardest time dying. Having lost his family and robbed a bank, Jimmy wants nothing more than to off himself.

fter four failed suicide attempts, Jimmy finally discovers what is happening: with each death, he jumps bodies. His having discovered this anomaly, though, does not slow the death count as Jimmy finds himself, in whatever body he is currently in, relentlessly hunted by a cunning detective with excellent powers of deduction.

is by no means pretty, but it fits the story perfectly. This is not a work for the faint of heart or those easily offended, but those with a sick sense of humor will breeze right through this first volume and eagerly anticipate the next.
