his excellent picture book follows the career of Dominican pitcher Pedro Martinez who followed his older brother, Ramon, to the big leagues. The two boys grew up in a poor family in the Dominican Republic.
W
atching his brother learn to pitch and then be invited to enter the Dodger's organization, Pedro was inspired to do likewise. No one ever imagined that Ramon's little brother would one day eclipse him, win three Cy Young awards, be named to eight All-Star teams, and pitch the Red Sox to a World Series championship.

he informative and riveting narrative accompanied by full page, over-sized illustrations combine to make this a book that any baseball fan will want to add to his/her library. Matt Tavares' other baseball books are classics and this one will add to the list of popular titles.
