he first episode turned the life of twenty-four-year-old socialite Olivia Taylor Jones (sole daughter of a wealthy Chicago family, engaged to tech firm CEO James Morgan) upside down. She learned that her birth parents are notorious serial killers, Todd and Pamela Larsen, serving life sentences in jail. Following
, Liz fled to Cainsville, Illinois, where she worked as a waitress. After amoral ambulance chaser Gabriel Walsh made contact, they worked together and cleared her birth parents of two murders. Olivia visits her mother in jail, but Pamela keeps her secrets close.
