If you already have read Night Watch: Book One and Day Watch: Book Two you'll be familiar with the Others, an ancient race of supernatural beings (magicians, shape-shifters, vampires, and healers) who have either sided with the powers of Darkness or the forces of Light in the struggle to control the planet. Although they have maintained an uneasy truce for quite a while, the balance the Others have maintained is now threatened. An ancient book of spells has surfaced and within this tome there resides the special magic that can turn ordinary humans into Others. The book has fallen into the wrong hands and now the Night Watch and the Day Watch must work together to make sure that the renegade who possesses the book doesn't set off a global confrontation.
