Their names are Bon Bon, Whisk, Teeny, Nibble and Abby. These five adventurous mice are about to compete in a very special auto race with the Ultimate Piece of Cheese as the prize for the winner.

First they will have to construct their car from an old soda can and other spare parts. Then someone will have to step up and offer to drive the car while the other four mice are passengers.

Once they leave the starting line, the mice will have to make it through crowded city streets without getting stepped on or overturned by the people and animals who create a course hazard. Finally, it will be a mad drive through the park and city outdoor market as the racers head for the finish line.

When their battery begins to die, Nibble comes up with a clever solution that enables the five mice to just squeak across the finish line to take the delicious prize. But, the biggest surprise of all happens after the race when the mice make sure everyone is a winner.

First published in Japan, this is a special story about cooperation, friendship and generosity. Fortunately, now children in other countries can enjoy this picture book and its engaging characters.
