Reflected follows Silver and Tarnished as the third in this engaging urban fantasy (werewolf) series that incorporates both mystery and romance into its plotlines.

Werewolf Andrew Dare's Spanish wife was killed, sending him on a murderous rampage that exiled him from Europe and separated him from his daughter Felicia. In the first episode, he found a crazed female werewolf, claiming to have lost her wild self and calling herself Silver. She speaks constantly with her companion, Death. As Dare and Silver solved the puzzle of what had happened to her, and destroyed the monster who had ravaged her life, they developed strong feelings for each other.

In Tarnished, Dare's enemies (including the Spanish pack, with Felicia in tow) converged on him in Seattle. They were defeated with help from unlikely sources and Dare and Silver became alphas of the Roanoke pack. Felicia chose to remain in North America with her father, but it's a big adjustment for her - and for Silver, who still grieves the loss of her wild self and her inability to have her own cubs.

Reflected is largely Felicia's story, though Silver also plays a major role. Felicia is attracted to Tom (a member of Dare's home pack) but her father tells Tom to stay away from his daughter for a couple of years, so earning her resentment. Soon afterwards, he is called away to deal with a problem in Alaska, leaving Silver to cope with any issues that come up with the North American sub-packs.

When a childhood friend from the Madrid pack shows up, Felicia pretends not to know him - Enrique tells Silver he's from South America. Felicia is delighted to spend time with him, until he blackmails her into helping with a plot against Silver, one that tests the latter in many ways and forces her into actions that risk her fragile sanity. But, when Felicia's role in events is revealed, Silver counsels her as a mother would.

Reflected is another engaging episode in an intriguing series. Rhiannon Held makes her secret werewolf society, with all its politics and relationships, feel very real. As always, I look forward to the next episode.
