Each page in this activity book invites the reader to grab a pen, pencil or marker and complete the picture provided. Divided into four regions (Northeast, South, Midwest and West) of the country, each section offers a series of artistic challenges. When you visit the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, you are invited to transform a large soup can into a work of art and a western horse needs a saddle, bridle and rider to complete the picture.

Whether it is adding boats, such as canoes, to a Minnesota lake, finishing off a set of Pacific Northwest totem poles or drawing a wagon train passing Chimney Rock in Nebraska, there are plenty of pictures to complete and color.

An extra bonus of doodling away here is that you are also learning about the various parts of the country and discovering what some of the major landmarks in each section are.

This is an excellent book to bring out on a day when a child can't go outside to play or when a family is traveling and needs a diversion for a youngster. Actually, mom or dad might enjoy finishing some of the pictures too!
