Since they have just moved into a new house, the Knit Wits are celebrating with a housewarming party. Since this family of knitted materials takes everything quite literally, the reader is in for some humorous moments.

The fun begins when the preparation for the housewarming includes pulling out all their scarves and sweaters and tossing them around the inside of the house to 'warm it'. Of course, serving snacks to any visitors means tossing them up in the air and whacking them with a tennis racquet!

When it is time to frost the cake, Mrs. Knit Wit made, it is popped in the freezer and 'straightening up' the messy living room translates into moving back and forth the pictures hanging on the wall.

The Knit Wits are not the brightest folks on the street, but young children will love their silly antics. The illustrations are quite unusual also because the characters are fashioned from knitware; hence their name, which is obviously a play on words as well.
