avid Carter's cute
bug
pop-up books now number twenty titles, but perhaps none is as special as this holiday counting book that puts a buggy spin on an iconic song.
C
arter has fun with the
Twelve Days of Christmas
as he replaces the traditional gifts with his little insect creations. Flip open the holiday boxes to discover an assortment of fruitcake bugs, cuckoo bugs, snowflake bugs, tinsel bugs and many, many other examples of Carter's bug-eyed friends.
T
he paper engineering, as always, is excellent and a few pages are truly astounding. The
Fifth Day of Christmas
(five glowing bugs) is really breathtaking as are the final two days that feature eleven dainty bugs a-dancing plus twelve angel bugs a-rising and swinging ftom a tree.
I
f you have never see one of Carter's creations, now is the time to buy yourself or your family an early holiday gift. Once you've enjoyed this book you'll want to purchase all the others (if you can find them!)
