Princess Adel is being forced into an arranged marriage with Senator Clark, the American who wants to lead the Equatorian Empire and the America Republic into war with the vampires. Princess Adel has put off the marriage as long as she can. Her father insists she set a date. Clark wants his campaign against the European vampires to begin immediately. His strategy is to murder the humans n Vampire territory thereby cutting off the vampires' food supply.

His plan sickens Adel. In secret, Princess Adel is being trained in self-defense and in the geomancer science. There are powers in the earth that might help the humans.

The wedding scene is pure Hollywood and just as thrilling to read. Adel is rescued by Grayfriar, who is certain she is in immediate danger. After their dramatic exit from the wedding, Adel and Grayfriar are on the run from Senator Clark and his army plus in danger from the army of vampires, led by Grayfriar's brother.

Adel is destined to be a great geomancer, but her training is not complete. If she can bring the energy of the earth under her control, she can bring death to the vampires.

This is the second book in an exciting steampunk series that has it all ... romance, danger, sacrifice and star-crossed lovers.
