These things that go include a car, train, submarine, truck, school bus, tractor, taxi, bicycle, police car, airplane, helicopter, ice-cream truck, fire truck, and rocket ship. What makes the mainly front views of these things that go so appealing is that each one has a smile and eyes incorporated into the illustration. As you page through this simple book you'll see the mood is very upbeat and because each illustration is labeled, you can practice recognizing not only the object but also the word that identifies it. Make this a game with your toddler and ask him or her to show you a car or fire truck. Then point to the illustration or word and ask, 'What is this?' It won't be long before your child will recognize some of these modes of transportation when you are out and about.
