Starting with their own backyards, children use binoculars to spy on the thirteen different North American habitats and learn about the animals who live there. The rhyming verse will make for easy reading and remembering in this picture book for kids from 4 to 8.

The beaches bogs, caves, and deserts, forests and meadows, mountains, ocean, plains, ponds, rivers, and swamps are filled with native plants and animals, not seen anywhere else. As kids explore, they meet the animals who live there and discover why this is just the habitat for them.

The activities at the back of the book are both fun and educational. This is another good selection from Sylvan Dell Publishing for summer reading.
