An interactive picture book with fold out pages, this is the ideal way to show your little ballerina some of the basic movements that she will encounter in her first ballet class.

Designed for preschoolers, this collection of photos and accompanying text illustrates and explains some simple warm up and stretching exercises (bend your knees, stretch high, and wiggle your fingers) before practicing some simple ballet moves.

Hold on to the back of a chair to practice your plie and releve. Next, pretend you are a pony and jump, prance, slide and hop. 'Off you go, little pony! Chasse! Chasse!'

Keep practicing these and the other simple moves shown here at home. Bend, bow and sway. Whirl and twirl. Step out to the side and turn your body around. Whee ... ballet is fun! Now take a bow. Bravo!

Before you sign her up for lessons, you might wish to see if your ballerina is really that interested in dancing. Have some fun with this book and see how she responds. After you've tried what the author suggests in these pages a few times you'll know if you and your child are ready for the next step!
