Santa's older sister, Auntie Claus, is making a slight alteration in her usual holiday plans. Normally, she heads for the North Pole after Halloween to help her brother prepare for Christmas. The brains of the operation, Auntie Claus oversees the toy shop.

This year, though, Auntie Claus is running the workshop from her New York apartment rather than from the North Pole. Why? Her niece, who usually helps her, has a chance to perform as the Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker. Sophie Kringle has her heart set on being in the ballet and Auntie Claus intends to make sure the child's longtime wish comes true.

It's going to be a very memorable Christmas, not only for Sophie but also for the residents of the Big Apple, but when Auntie Claus makes the decision to be home for the holidays, nothing can change her mind.

This is an unusual Christmas story but one children four years of age and older will enjoy. In the years to come this could well become a family favorite and a holiday tale that will be passed down for future generations to read.
