Mouse doesn't know how to show others how angry he is. He tries to be hopping mad only to be told by the hare that he looks ridiculous. The hare offers to show him how to hop. His attempt to follow Hare's lead ends with Mouse in a puddle of water.

Next Mouse tries stomping. Bear tells him that stomping should shake the trees and cause the earth to rumble. Mouse tries to do as Bear suggests but ends up in another puddle of water.

Readers will enjoy following Mouse as other creatures try to teach him how show his anger. His small size doesn't allow him to follow any of their directions, but in the end he realizes he is no longer angry anyway.

Henry Cole's illustrations of Mouse and his friends are sweetly humorous.
