Trained in the arts of dot painting and poetry, Dillon combines her talents to showcase her concern for 21 of our planet's threatened and endangered creatures near and far. With a dot painting of an animal on the left-hand side of the open book, she pairs a related short, factual rhyme on the right. This gem of a book is stunningly beautiful. The publisher, Windward Publishing, must be commended as well for producing such a divine, quality-crafted book for children. Though the book is small, it contains much information. Following the pictures and poetry directed at children, there are information, suggestions, and activity ideas for parents and educators to use in instilling sustainable values in children. This book would be an excellent selection for any school's environmental curriculum, as well as a worthy addition to public libraries. The author encourages adults to 'guide your children and cherish their natural desire to make the world a better place.' Dillon's Through Endangered Eyes is a gentle and lovely way to introduce children to environmental responsibility, and to emphasize the interconnectedness of all life on the planet.
