What looks to be a simple mugging turns into a more sinister case as Jane pursues the person responsible.

is fast-paced and exciting. A welcome new personality to the literary crime scene, Jane Bauer is a real individual with her own demons to expunge. Her victories are ones we can share in, and her poor choices are ones we can agonize over along with her. Let's hope we see more of Jane Bauer.
