obbie Faye Sumrall doesn't intentionally attract danger and mayhem - it just seems to reel her in no matter how hard she tries to avoid its hook. When her bubble headed cousin, Francesca pops in for a chat while Bobbie Faye's manning the gun counter at Ce Ce's Cajun Outfitter and Feng Shui Emporium, Bobbie Faye doesn't expect any trouble - only more unwanted advice about how to improve her skin tone and wardrobe. But within minutes there's gunfire. As she tries to escape the mayhem, no less than three sets of bad guys grab Bobbie Faye, each demanding that she reveal the whereabouts of missing diamonds belonging to Francesca's mob connected daddy, Emile Despre.
A
pparently, Francesca's eccentric artist mom swiped the gems from her estranged husband and pulled a vanishing act, but not before leaving behind various written hints indicating that Bobbie Faye might know the whereabouts of the gems. Naturally ditzy Francesca demands that Bobbie Faye locate the diamonds and also help Francesca put together her crumbling family unit. Enter dead sexy FBI agent Trevor Cormier posing as a hardcore mercenary on Emile's payroll. As Bobbie Faye barrels into one disaster after another in her attempt to get to the bottom of the mystery of the missing family jewels, Trevor and her estranged boyfriend, Detective Cameron Moreau, help her survive assorted gunfights, stand-offs, exploding cars and rice silos, and eventually the wrath of the state of Louisiana police force after she's framed for a couple of murders. Will Bobbie Faye survive her latest wild and woolly adventure? You'll have to ride shotgun with her to find out!

ith three sets of shadowy villains (as well as a secretive arm of Homeland Security) all wanting to get their hands on the diamonds - not to mention the inclusion of Bobby Faye's complicated family and romantic relationships - the storyline often borders on frenetic. However Causey expertly tempers the breakneck pacing with well-timed interludes that often involve Bobbie Faye and Trevor (who's got plenty of secrets of his own) trying to learn more about one another as well as coming to terms with their evolving relationship. Trevor may want to put a ring on her finger sooner as opposed to later, but before Bobbie Faye says '
I Do
' she needs to clear up the bucket full of unresolved issues with long-time boyfriend Cameron.

Girls Just Wanna Have Guns
. It's a sassily written, high-spirited caper brimming with marvellously eccentric characters, crackerjack plotting, non-stop action and plenty of regional Cajun flavour, a spicy blend that will leave readers begging for the next instalment.
