is the delightful protagonist in the first book of a new series by Parnell Hall. Cora Felton, a syndicated puzzle columnist, marches to her own drum - and would prefer that everyone else march right along with her. But if declined, she does her own thing anyway - which is to meddle, much to the dismay of the police chief of Bakerhaven.
W
hen a body turns up in the local cemetery with what appears to be a crossword puzzle clue in a pocket, Cora offers her problem solving skills. Her niece Sherry does her best to keep Cora out of trouble and that's where the fun begins. The author took a unique approach which works well. The puzzle continues to grow throughout the story as new clues are uncovered. The ending, as all good endings should be, comes as a surprise.

he Puzzle Lady
is an easy to read book that can be consumed in almost one sitting. It's fun; light; entertaining; a good summer read for the beach or back patio.
