Demons. We all have them. No, I'm not talking about little red monsters with black horns perched on your shoulder telling you to indulge in that third serving of devil's food cake. I'm talking about inner demons: depression, anxiety, illness, anorexia, a troubled marriage, paralyzing perfectionism, fear, self-esteem issues, addiction, rage ... the list can go on and on. Most of us are used to fighting our demons, struggling to keep them in their place – usually a dark place where they can be locked away and not bother anyone. The problem with that approach is that it often doesn't work. Demons have a way of breaking out of their prison cells, twice as determined to get in our way.

Allione's approach to quieting those demons is to feed them instead of fighting them. What if, instead of struggling with our demons, we simply accepted them for what they are? And what if we took that one step further and nurtured our demons? Allione describes a technique developed by one of Tibet's greatest female spiritual masters to do just that. And while it may sound unconventional to our North American belief systems, it's a surprisingly simple approach that may shock you with its powerful results.

The five-step practice Allione encourages readers to perform is easy for anyone to undertake, even if unfamiliar with meditation or visualization techniques. She tells us that 'Those who have used the method report that chronic emotional and physical issues such as anxiety, compulsive eating, panic attacks and illness were resolved or significantly benefited from this approach.' Allione takes her beliefs a step further and also explains ways to feed collective demons in the family, organizational demons in corporations, and even political demons in the world.

If you've been struggling with inner issues and are looking for a different approach to successfully bring peace to your life, Feeding Your Demons may be just what you need.
