Slim and Howdy are almost as different as two cowboys could be, yet a chance meeting at a used car lot brings them together. They find that, despite their differences, they both have a love of cars, alcohol, women and music. A bond is formed and their journey to Del Rio begins.

Slim is on a mission to recover his stolen guitar from Brushfire Boone Tate, whose girlfriend Slim once stole. Thus begins a trail of trouble that is determined to follow them across Texas. Slim and Howdy encounter Jodie, who hires them to play a stint at her bar. When she is kidnapped, Slim and Howdy must join forces to find her.

The Adventures of Slim & Howdy, written by one of country music's hottest duos (Brooks & Dunn), is truly reminiscent of a country song turned into a story - about two cowboys who are just following a dream. A bonus CD single is included with the book.
