Linda works at Dream Photography with Luke Vidal, her controlling boss who seems intent on maintaining his own reputation, even if it means belittling his employees. After nearly twenty-five years of marriage and two kids, Linda realizes her marriage has gotten stale and she is determined to spice things up. She embarks on LAME - Linda's Adventurous Marriage Experiment. However, things do not always go as planned. Belle, the family dog, decides to try Linda's thyroid medication. Emma, Linda's daughter, gets her first crush and then tries to deal with a teacher she believes is treating her unfairly. Thrown into the mix is a health scare for Linda. Will the experiment work with Jerry, or will he remain clueless and unromantic as their twenty-fifth anniversary approaches? DiMaria's characters are realistic and it's easy for the average reader to relate to situations such as a difficult boss, a frustrating job, passion taking the backseat to kids and daily life, etc.. Searching for Spice combines the right amount of religion (to remind the reader that God is there in difficult times) mixed with a dose of humor.
