But April is not entirely happy. Her marriage has lost some of its spark, and April is not sure if her dream home is what she really wants.
O
ne day, when April is looking at the local paper, an ad catches her eye. '
For Sale: The Last Beach Bungalow. The owner of this 1928 original bungalow is seeking a buyer with heart. What would you give - besides money- to live here? Bring your offers, your stories, and a promise to preserve and protect. Winner will pay $300,000. Open House, Saturday 1-4.

A
pril decides to attend the open house, and it is love at first sight. The bungalow is truly charming, and full of the love and history of a happily married couple who were together for forty-nine years. In addition, looking at the bungalow brings back wonderful memories of summers that April spent at her grandmother's cottage in New Hampshire. April decides to try to
win
the bungalow, even though the move-in date for her dream house is just several weeks away.
O
f course, April's husband and daughter think that she has lost her mind, but she will not be deterred. As April continues her quest to win the bungalow, her life begins to take surprising turns. Not only does her husband fall in love with the bungalow as well, but April rediscovers the contentment that had been missing from her life.
T
he Last Beach Bungalow
, based on actual events from the author's life, is an absolute gem. Jennie Nash has a way of making readers feel that they are standing inside the bungalow alongside April, as she takes in
bright bedrooms
and the
golden kitchen
. I could picture myself standing on the street looking at the bungalow, the last one left on a street, '
surrounded by Mediterranean mansions
' and '
Spanish-style villas.
' I cannot recommend this book enough;
The Last Beach Bungalow
is not to be missed.
