ourteen year-old Candy Wong is faced with more problems than feeling fat and dorky.
I Want Candy
, a coming-of-age story, tells of more of than just the normal trials and tribulations that most young girls go through: finding that their parents are very unreasonable, rebelling against the system, realizing that friendships go by the roadside when boys become involved, hating their clothes, hating their restrictions, wanting more than what they see as their lot in life.

andy's sexual explorations exceed even what I would expect of today's young women.
I Want Candy
is the saga of a child who faces a little more than her counterparts on the path to adulthood, but comes out the other end with a new wisdom and a sense that maybe her parents aren't so dumb after all. This charming book is written with humor and candor - possibly a little too much candor for one of my tender years.
