hile some may not admit to watching the show, most Americans have heard of the National phenomenon known as
American Idol
. After the 9/11 terrorist attacks, many people were looking for hope and something positive to believe in. Premiering one year later,
American Idol
seemed to do just that. It united people without regard to generation or race. Where else could you find average people trying to fulfill a dream? Douglas Everett said it best: '
