While there, Dorothy stumbles across deeds most foul. She uses her clever deductive skills, information from her husband's office, and just sheer good luck to solve two murders and an embezzlement. A quick look into English country village life from an American's viewpoint is always fascinating. Dorothy's trademark of outlandish hats gets a workout in this fourth book in a delightful series. The author has a good sense of humor that is evident in her writing. Her opening of 'It was a wet, blustery Monday afternoon in early November, the gray sky full of scudding clouds, leaves rushing through the air and sticking to the windows as the chill wind flung them there.' is in the traditional 'it was a dark and windy night' vein and precedes a quick, fun read. Malice in Miniature is one that is not likely to remain with you, but a good choice for the beach, deck or around the pool.
