orothy Martin, recently married to an English constable and ensconced in an old house in an English village, visits Brocklesby Hall to view its miniature collection. While there, Dorothy stumbles across deeds most foul. She uses her clever deductive skills, information from her husband's office, and just sheer good luck to solve two murders and an embezzlement.
A
quick look into English country village life from an American's viewpoint is always fascinating. Dorothy's trademark of outlandish hats gets a workout in this fourth book in a delightful series. The author has a good sense of humor that is evident in her writing.

is one that is not likely to remain with you, but a good choice for the beach, deck or around the pool.
