Things get even more difficult when a pair of Minnesota wolves comes to town with the news of their imminent integration with her pack. Cara is not impressed; it's hard enough for her small band of Sazi shape shifters to keep a low profile - certainly the Council must realize that the introduction of even a few additional wolves would not only raise eyebrows, but tempers. But she also knows that within the Sazi community, Council decision is law. When a high-ranking Wolven enforcer arrives to oversee the situation, Cara knows she and her pack have little choice but to bow to the Council's directives. Adam Mueller has no problem working alongside another Alpha, but from the moment he meets Cara, he senses that theirs will be much more than just a political struggle. Neither wants to recognise that they are mates, and they do everything in their power to avoid their inevitable bonding. But when a pack of rogue Sazi raptors invades their territory and targets the wolves' young, Adam and Cara are forced to work together to unravel a conspiracy that affects not only the future of their newly expanded pack but that of Adam's Minnesota pack as well. While Cara and Adam are both likeable leads, an overly busy plot keeps them apart and unable to build a believable relationship, whether the pair is mated or not. Lengthy flashbacks and rehashes of previous incidents also slow down the pacing and muddle the focus of the story. Even so, Moon's Fury is filled with plenty of adventure, mystery and complicated Sazi subterfuge to keep you guessing and adds another fascinating layer to the series mythology.
